LaserCAM problem: "Floating point"

I'm experiencing a problem with LaserCAM 2D Design v1.15.5.361 on Windows 7 64-bit HP desktop PCs. I have a classroom of about 20 of them, and the problem seems to randomly occur; that is to say that it is not limited to particular computers or users.
Symptom: When attempting to change a line colour from etch (blue) to cut (red) or visa-versa the program throws an error that reads "Floating point". The colour-changing buttons then stop responding until I restart the program.
Has anyone else had this problem, or have a solution?
