Hi I've come in this morning to use the laser cutter and come up against a couple of puzzling problems- -Went to start the driver software and a message came up that said the computer was looking for the hardware 'Make sure you have a USB lead plugged into the computer......................' Checked...

Compressor
Just tried it again after re-checking everything and it works - wondered if there was a thermal overload + does this compressor need oil?

Flashing yellow LED on compressor
Our air assist seams to have stopped working and on the reverse of the box are 2 LED's one green (which I assume means OK) and one yellow, which at the moment is flashing. Any ideas!
Many thanks

Hepa filter, life span and override
We're getting an error message saying the hepa filter is exhausted re: previous post. I'm just wondering, is it possible to override this message and still use the laser cutter? As we're at the end of the year and our budget and we still have a small amount to do!! Previous cutters we've used the fi...

Diameter of laser beam
Just wondered if anybody knew the diameter of the Versalasers' laser so that we can do a contour cut in Corel and produce 'push fit' components.

Microrouter Pro won't home
Our Microrouter Pro won't home, all of a sudden. When home is pressed the head 'steps' very slowly in the oposite direction down the X axis. If I overide home using the 'secret' button I can jog the head 3/4 up the X axis where it stops. I can also jog the machine head down the X axis right up and I...

I was trying to streamline the way our machines work with 2D profiles, as some students want to use the same profiles on the Versalaser for acrylic and on the router to machine MDF. At present we only use Corel for 2D work. I've found a temporary solution as we don't have Quickcam 2D. If the origina...

Corel draw dxf export
The file is for version 10 Corel Draw, although we use version 12. I tried importing the dxf file into ArtCAM which is normally very good at dealing with dxf's, hoping to use the dxf export function from there. When the dxf was imported into ArtCAM the same problem occured, straight and broken lines...

dxf export
This is what the original design in Corel looks like, i've also included the export settings that I'm using. Unfortunately we don't have Quickcam 2D, everything else except that.

dxf export
I’ve tried exporting the dxf as Autocad R13 format, unfortunately the same happens. I also made sure that the millimetres were selected. I’ve enclosed the dxf file and I will try out adapting the curves. I’m using Corel 12.

Corel Draw dxf export
Are there any special settings for exporting dxf files from Corel Draw to VR Milling V5? I've tried several Autocad formats 2002 etc. but everytime I open it up in VR Milling the image looks nothing like the original design, too small and curves converted to lines etc. Any ideas?

Honeycombe bed still crashes into the nozzle
The honeycombe bed of the Versalaser is crashing into the nozzle and damaging the honeybombe structure. I've tried switching off, logging off etc. but this seems to make little difference. Regarding the homing cycle, as suggested in another post, this starts automatically when the power is switched ...
