I have recently converted my easiturn. Initially I used an old vesion of mach 3 ( 1.84 ish ) and the spindle speed was ok then when I was getting the turret working I changed to a newer version and got the same problem that you have. I have used 1000 steps per mm Based on 10 microstep drives for both X & Z.
The thing that confused me was that I had heard that the leadscrew is metric and the cross slide imperial. Anyway that works for me.

Easiturn ballscrew pulleys
Hi
I am in the process of converting my easiturn to mach 3 and need to work out the pully ratios for the lead screw and cross slide. Does anybody know what they are? or better still have figures for the steps per unit in mach.

I use the Easichange system avilalble from J&L the collet chucks are ER32. I have tried these in a Denford fitting and they are the same taper. Also available are drill chuck mounts with a JT6, endmill holders and a threaded boring head mount.
