Jog increments don't match setting
I have just set up a router and for some reason the jog increments don't match what they where set to. For example when 'step jogging' I set this to 1mm increments. When I perform the step it moves 1.16mm!!!!!!! Why is this?? It doesn't make sense. I then hooked the machine up to my other laptop and...

Stepdown in QuickCAM 2D
Hi guys, I am working on a maze design in QuickCAM 2D and I am having some issues setting the step down. The material is MDF (6mm thick) and the maze profile is being cut with a 6mm endmill. The depth of cut is 4mm. QuickCAM 2D sets the stepdown to 100% - I take it that this will cut the material to...

Hi guys, I have noticed that you have a post for Roland Modela machines. Do you know if this post would work for the MDX range, or would this require a whole new post for the MDX range? We have some schools who have both a denford machine and roland machines and are asking this question. Cheers Paul...

Access Violation 005c1c5b error in VR Milling
Hi guys, I have a school here in Oz running a VR Milling V5 connected to a Microrouter Compact NS. When they click on the 'Select real machine' button it comes up with an 'access violation error 005c1c5b '. I have attached a screen shot of the error for you to check out. Any ideas on what the proble...

Static buildup
Hi Steve, I just installed a compact 1000 into one of our schools here in Australia and experienced some strange things whilst the machine was running whilst connected to a vacuum. On the first instance of cutting a car the machine stopped 3/4 of the way through, whilst VR milling appeared to contin...

Machining Boundary and Toolpaths
Hi guys, quick question! When you set a custom machining boundary in Quickcam 3D / Pro, is this calculated to the edge of the tool or the centre of the tool, ie the tip. For example; If I was to set a machining boundary at 211mm, will this end up being 211mm when cut or will it end up being 214mm if...

Network Site License Install
Hi all, can anyone tell me the procedure as to how schools should install a site license on their network for Quickcam 2D and 3D? There are no instructions in the package for this. How many machines is a site license for exactly?
Cheers
Paul
