Re: Triac spindle runout
I have a Triac PC and will be replacing the spindle motor and probably the bearings at the same time. The link below gives some great advice on the procedure for installing new bearings and adjusting the preload. Perhaps, this might improve your runout issue? https://www.mycncuk.com/threads/10344-Ye...

Denford Nextmove ST USB controller
Removed from a working 4-axis Microrouter Pro, which was running under VR5. I assume it can be easily reconfigured with Easy Updater to run other Denford machines

Re: Microrouter v3 with undocumented modifications.
Hi I have a V4 Pro (Sept 2002) that was updated to the USB controller. All the axes motors are the 3A version from your photo and are powered from a separate Parker XL50 3-axis drive (5A capable) with the step/dir inputs taken from a header on the controller board. The controller stepper drives are ...

Re: Looking for some basic information for Orac electrics rebuild
Also worth checking out Centroid Acorn as a controller as it has a good set of features for a lathe, including threading and constant surface speed. You would have to factor in the software as well as the Acorn card in the overall cost. Have a Mirac up and running on it and an Orac part-way through ...

Re: Noob here with a 1996 mirac
Went down the Acorn Centroid route for the controller update with our Mirac. Has plenty of good functionality for a lathe and support from the forum. The original controls have probably had their day and there are several better alternatives out there for an update.

Re: Mirac Mechanical Parts/Drawings
Hi Steve thanks for getting back to me. Specific queries would be is there a bracket/connection detail for the pneumatic connection through the spindle for the Leader pneumatic chuck (the valve and everything else apart from the chuck have been removed in my lathe)? is there a chuck backplate drawin...

Mirac Mechanical Parts/Drawings
Hi I am refurbishing a Mirac PC (March 2000) and am looking for any further documentation on the mechanical parts or assemblies. The operation manual and the other documents available here are great but I notice, unlike the Triac or Orac, there are no documents with assembly drawings and part number...

Re: Denford Orac conversion to new CNC controller
Xander I am refurbishing a similar vintage Orac and have obtained replacement spindle bearings. I found the set of instructions below for removing the spindle over on the mycncuk forum. I have sourced the M20 rod and nuts/washers, just need a suitable pipe to go over the spindle nose before I give i...

Orac Saddle Ballscrew Refurbishment
Hi I am restoring a 1986 Orac that is in generally good original condition but I noticed that the saddle ballscrew was rough when rotated by hand. Unfortunately it was not the thrust bearing and despite stripping the ballscrew down, cleaning and lubing it, the roughness did not go away. I have sent ...

Re: Denford Orac parts
Hi Eric
I'm interested, can you post a few photos of what you have? Apart from electronics, are any of the mechanical parts missing?
Thanks
Kevin
