I forgot to add I would prefer not to modify the machine as I wish to be able to still use the old control as after 15 years use have got used to its quirks

tried changing the crystal to 16mhz after checking the processor speed (KC16)
unfortunatly still the same "L" display and error 50
So I am look for any more help or sugestions

To Denford Admin The .opt & .go files were copied from my current version into the new version directory so were identical The new eproms when fitted both displayed "L" on the card display with a flashing dot in the lower left corner instead of the "8" displayed on the original eprom any ideas would...

I use v1.88 of heiden.exe and this will drip feed as steve described
except the file name to be run apears in the top right hand corner
this version has run a file of approx 20,000 lines with no problems
If it is of any help I can send you a copy

for info if this does require updating and somebody can send me the
file i know a chap with eprom programmers who could do the upgrade
