Re: v clearance initial cut depth ignored
Thanks for your reply Steve, I'm unsure what you mean about trying to v carve into the bottom of a pocket. I'm guessing you mean cutting the bottom face of an existing cavity but this isn't the case. Currently I'm trying to cut the orange piece from the below diagram to create a decorative inlay (th...

v clearance initial cut depth ignored
I've been attempting to create wooden inlays using the method developed by Paul Zank and Damian Durante, the method requires a cut path that starts below the surface of the billet to create the "male part." I've been using the advanced settings to attempt to achieve this, and for v carve plans it wo...

VCutter angle?
I've recently acquired some new tools for my router and was hoping someone could clarify what angle I should be using when setting up a VCutter. TOOL SETUP.png On the packaging they use either an angle measured off the vertical or an angle describing the point (hopefully the pic I've attached will c...

Re: Failing to import .dxf
Just had the same problem,
I'm creating dxf files in Illustrator 2019 and attempting to import into Quickcam 2.6.0.165
I had success by saving the dxf as an older version and also by changing the properties of Quickcam so that it ran as an administrator. Hope this can help someone in the future

Re: coil/thread design reversed
G'day Steve, Thanks for your reply, from the test you described it seems that the 4th axis is in fact running in the wrong direction, when pressing the "." key the chuck rotates in a counter clockwise direction and once rotated to the 90 degrees position the dial reads instead 270. If you get a chan...

coil/thread design reversed
G'day all, I'm trying to make a small part with a coarse thread to be used as a wooden insert of sorts, my problem is that even though the model has a standard thread and the toolpath shows it making a standard thread (quickcam4D) when machined (2600 pro) the result is a reverse thread. If anyone ha...
