Can anybody tell what method to set the correct belt tension? Do you set the belt deflection distance (what is it?) or set the deflection with deflection and a spring balance load mid way between the pulleys? Any help please!

Hello Andy, a long time has passed and at last I seem to have solved the problem with the motor reluctance to start. it was beginning to drive me mad as I had to keep tapping the motor to get it to start. Re: Denford Viceroy TDS lathe
Perhaps I should have put this question in another section but never the less I have arrived at a result. I obtained a 'Power twist plus belt from simply bearings (13mm wide) fitted and works well. Easely fitted.

Denford Viceroy TDS lathe
Any advice? I am looking at renewing the main drive belt on my TDS lathe. Two options; Nu-T or PowerTwist Z10. They appear to offer similar performance but the PowerTwist is easier to assemble.
Has anybody had experience of both and is the 13mm belt size recommended?
Many thanks
Gary
