Mint Controller Card wanted
Does anyone have a controller card for a TRIAC VMC Mill for sale? The card detail is:- 1990 Optimised Control LTD D281 Issue 5. The Eprom shows esMint 3.28. The card has a serial comms fault due to corrosion around the battery. I would even consider a faulty card without similar damage, so I can tra...

EuroSystem/EuroStep I/O board
Hi Guys, The Controller Card (Mint Card) for my Triac VMC has suffered bad corrosion damage from the battery back-up despite being recently replaced and not leaking. It has eaten into the track for the adjacent RS232 line buffer/drivers U16 & U17 (SN75155D). I have tried to use the serial data pins ...

Re: Triac PC, should I fix or convert?
I am sure the 2.5mm wiring has nothing to do with the fault you report. An increase in load current produces a drop in voltage (Ohms law). 2.5mm twin and earth on a short cable run is good for 24 amps The spur should be fused at 20 Amps. The spindle controller/motor has nowhere near this power deman...

Re: Triac. "cannot connect to machine"
P.S. to my last. The click you are not hearing may be caused by the ESR relay not energising. If this is the case you need to look at the several axis interlocks, emergency stop etc. The 80 way umbilical is a source of "poor connection problems" if you have recently moved your machine which has alre...

Re: Triac. "cannot connect to machine"
I have been chasing a similar problem on a TRIAC MILL I acquired from Manchester Collage of Arts & Technology. I replaced the battery on the Controller as it had discharged and corroded (3 or 4 years without power). On initial power-up the LED Status display shows 0 for an instant then an L with a f...

Thanks for your support guys. I have sent a S/W enquiry request to Denford. There appears something scary (possible malicious code hyperlink) on the S/W part of the forum if you follow the trail. I will let you know how things progress.

Denford S/W & H/W architecture
Hi Guys, Being totally new to CNC, millers, Denford machines, I have yet to drop on a basic overview of the S/W & hardware aspects of my newly acquired March 1999 TRIAC VMC miller. Original installed S/W 2.102. Is there a post or Board on your Forum that covers the basics or an overview? (i) Is ther...
Re: Newby
Hi Lone_Ranger, Thank you for taking the time reply. I now need to throw a bit of a spanner in the works. After asking the previous owner what actually happened to the controller (and sending a picture of the box), I now have the controller. It appears to be complete and in fare condition. The flopp...

Hi guys, Is there any historic information or a technical overview for the TRIAC/VMS miller including key component changes/update, types of servos used/variants etc? I have aquired just the miller half plus the monitor and was hoping I could build a user friendly controller. It seems so sad to scra...
