i would prefer to use servos with encoders, anything less and I cant see the point in converting. I have used the Mitsubishi 100w hf-kp13 and MRj3 10A drives on a mill conversion on which I was able to do the mechanicals working with someone who did all the electrics, electronics and software. I'm sure this is been answered elsewhere, but what is the best way to put a centre profiling tool into the tool database? It seems only to have space for left or right hand turning tools. The only way I found could specify it was as a neutral threading tool but it chooses not to use it for profiling...
