Re: Triac limit switches and mach 3
Hi Moray, just a quick update, In regards to the 24vdc inductive proximity switches required, in which you kindly provided a link for, i believe if im not mistaken that i could, instead of buying 3 of these (at £80+ each!) i could get away with only getting 1, just for the X home. as this is were th...

Re: Triac spindle runout
in regards to getting better bearings, i am now strongly considering this. must be a touch of madness in me seeing as i just probably ruined a pair of decent bearings! as you mentioned kfm36, the 2MM208WIDUL fafnir bearings with ground preload spacer is tempting. ive seen pairs go for around £300 on...

Re: Triac spindle runout
Thank you for the replies i managed to improve on this in the end. it required me removing the spindle from the head and reinstalling it. with the help of a heat gun, which i used the first time round but probably used it more effectively this time, and also a slight change in method. instead of ins...

Triac spindle runout
Hello all, I am in the process of upgrading my Triac spindle. I have a 1.6kw 8000 rpm AC servo motor ordered for the spindle and for this i thought it was essential that i upgrade the spindle bearings. So i went with bearings rated for 10000 rpm to give me a good headroom, link below. https://simply...

Old Denford Triac PC Electronics/Control box
Hi all, I have an old unwanted Denford Triac PC PC Electronics/Control box. Is this something that would be of interest to anyone? I have no use for it as i have gone for a new system and have bolted it to the back of my machine to make it a more practical all in one unit. If anyone is interested in...

Re: Triac limit switches and mach 3
holy mackerel!! thats pricey! i assume there are no other options for this as they are such an uncommon size? hence the ludicrous price. i have looked around online and had no luck finding anything like these. if there isnt any other option im not sure what to do now, i have already spent a pretty p...

Re: Triac limit switches and mach 3
Hi Moray, Thanks for your reply. i think ill do the same and replace the NAMUR system with new cables and 3 wire sensors or micro switches then. what sensors did you go with to home the axes? particularly the X axis as as the original proximity sensor for this is tiny! (may be the same for the other...

Triac limit switches and mach 3
Hi all I am in the process of upgrading my Triac PC to mach 3. I have bought a "CNC kit" (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203718263502) and intend to pretty much start again with the electronics and have them in a new electronics enclosure bolted to the back of the machine, similar to what you would see ...

Pneumatic air cylinder for Triacs?
Hi all, back once again for a possibly silly question, but hey you seem like a nice bunch so here goes! I have a non ATC variant of the Triac and would like to ugrade my machine to have a pneumatic drawbar like the ATC variants have. Im aware Denford supply the drawbar and other components required ...

Re: Triac Way lube pump
Hi Moray, Thank you for your response, i had not heard of lubetec before, i looked on their website and they seem like the perfect supplier so thanks. the pump on my machine is a Bijur TM1 C2896, they sell a C2890 model, maybe i can make this work? hopefully just "plug and play". the reason for need...

Triac Way lube pump
Hi all,
Im hoping you can help me. I need a replacement auto lube pump on my Triac. after a bit of googling to find a replacement i was shocked to find they go for silly money, cheapest i have found is around £500. is there an alternative i can use? such as a cheap chinese one?

Re: X Axis Backlash Fanuc Triac
i have the same issue, unfortunately the denford forum doesnt seem keen to help people with backlash issues. i have taken my table off the machine entirely to find that my ballscrew nuts are very worn which would explain the nearly 0.07mm backlash i was experiencing. will have to get new ones/get th...

Re: Triac Spindle head assembly drawings
hi there would these bearings be suitable for the triac spindle? there seems to be a lot of variations of the same bearing so i just want to be properly sure I'm ordering the correct pair. also is there a "proper" way to remove the old spindle assembly and bearings? i feel like I'm diving in at the ...

Re: NovaTurn Servo retrofit AMD Gizmosphere iBOB2 PCIe x1
Hi Iron Man, for the kit, I would need all the motors and control system for them (and dumbed down instructions for dummies lol). basically I require everything it has taken to convert your machine to closed loop AC servos but for a Triac, I wont require any of the motor mounting equipment as I can ...

Re: Possible Bearing Gone on Spindle
I've just come across the same issue on my triac, squeaky and just generally an unhappy sound coming from my spindle, so i thought i would investigate. when i rotate by hand in the direction its last turned, it feels somehow notchy but not, its very hard to describe the feeling, but at the end of th...

Re: Who designed the Triac?
I've got the standard 1997 triac with 30INT spindle, how would i go about converting to BT30 for a future retrofitted tool changer project?. are there direct replacement spindles from the models above mine, or is it the exact same spindle apart from it just requiring all the gripping and releasing c...

Re: Tormach TTS on Triac R8 spindle
did your triac come with an R8 spindle taper??? I'm looking to upgrade my triac wherever i can, I've got the standard P.C without tool changer and i retrofitted a coolant system on it which works well. I'm looking to hopefully retrofit a tool changer and better positioning motors, ideally a closed l...
