Auto tool changer position
Hi all I’ve just got the denford eight tool automatic tool changer working on my easiturn 3, which has had a mach 3 updated using a CS Labs controller but everything else as standard bar new stepper drivers and power supplies. I’m trying get the tool changer lined up and I was wondering if anyone kn...

Re: Spindle motor upgrade
That's the problem though, I can not get above 1650rpm at the moment and can not work out why. I am using a Teco E2-202-H1F inverter, which should go up to 120hz output frequency. Motor RPM = Frequency x 120 / number of poles, which should mean the motor can be driven at 3600rpm, but I am only getti...

Spindle motor upgrade
Hi I am thinking of upgrading the spindle motor to a more powerful unit so as to be able to make best use of TCT onset tooling. I’m thinking of installing a motor in the 2.5kw to 3kw range and was just wondering if anybody had done that and what their experiences are? Thanks Andy Ps I’ve done a Mach...

Re: Easiturn 3 Saddle gib strip
Hi Yes thanks, that is where I looked originally in the region of where the lubrication manifold is but couldn't find anything. Also looked at the front but couldn't see. Looked either end of the saddle as well in case it was a wedge type design but couldn't see, and can not find a drawing of the sa...

Easiturn 3 Saddle gib strip
Hi I'm confused, and not for the first time, the Easiturn 3 manual talks about adjusting the cross-slide and saddle gib strips. I've done the cross slide one but I can't find one on the saddle. The parts manual appears to list one but I can't find one or any obvious screws associated with one. Hence...

Re: Easiturn 3 Tripping House RCD
Thanks. This is a brand new house though we new modern RCDs. Putting in a filter on the inverter has solved the issue, and that was also backed up by an Electrical Engineer independelty suggesting a filter was probably required. If my main workshop trips on such things though, I will get the RCDs ch...

Re: Easiturn RS232
Have managed to move a few steps forward by changing out the PNC3 interface board for a spare one that came with the machine. Previous to this I did a loop back test and confirmed that the serial port was working ok. However, I still seem to have a setup issue as if I use Data Bits = 7, Stop Bits = ...

Re: Easiturn RS232
This morning I have tried changing the 7 pin Din from pins 1 & 7 with ground to 4 to pins 6 & 7 with gournd to 2 but no change, so have gone back to the original setup. Have tried all manner of combinations of serial port settings but it still won't transfer the first block. What I have noticed thou...

Re: Easiturn RS232
Just found ten minutes to resolder the pins on the RS232 lead but to no avail, it still sits there trying to send the first block but not completing. I have tired changing Data bits to 8 and the stop bits to 2 but hasn't made any difference either. Have also tried parity set to none but still hasn't...

Easiturn RS232
Hi I have an Easiturn PNC3 lathe, which I am trying to get to talk to an old windows XP computer via Easiturn so that I can transfer files to the lathe. I know that this function has been working ok prior to me purchasing the lathe as the previous owner made good use of it. The Serial to RS232 cable...

Inverter Issues
I recently purchased an Easiturn 3, which is in full working order. It has previously been fitted with with a Teco/Direct Drive E2-202-H1F Digital Inverter as the original one kept overheating. Everytime the inverter is switched on, it trips the downstairs RCD, which appears to be a possibility with...

Easiturn 3 Tripping House RCD
Hi Firstly as a newbie to owning a Denford machine thank you to everyone that participates in this forum. I recently purchased a Denford Easiturn 3, which was working when I picked it up as the previous owner demonstrated it to me. I plugged it in yesterday and switched the main isolator to on and t...
