Hi,
I know this is a very old post but did you sell the tool changer?

Easy Servo closed loop Stepper system
Easy Servo closed loop Stepper system Has anyone tried this system? I have decided to upgrade my orac lathe. I have gone with a "CPU5A4E (4 Axis CNC controller with ethernet)" £366, this does include the software. I wanted a board with Ethernet as better on signal control. Also have changed the AC i...

Re: Orac stepper motors.
Hi,
If I rember correctly they are rated at a low 156Ncm, but with the grearing down via a timing belt on the leadscrew, works quite happily, and the lighter load on the cross slide needs little power to move it.
Hope this helps.

Re: Siemens Micromaster 410
Ok, A new update. I am going to use a Sinamics G110 Inverter with filter 0.37kw with Din Rail Mount (RS No: 505-2129) This should match the original motor on the lathe. Controlling it with a Cnc4pc C11T Breakout board. Also the following power supplies: Meanwell MDR-10-5 5Vdc 2A Din Rail Mount (RS N...

Siemens Micromaster 410
Hi,
My Siemens Micromaster 410 has broken.
They do not make it any more.
Can I use a Siemens Sinamics G110 inverter w/filter, 0.37kW
I use it on my orac lathe spindle motor.
Any help would be great.

Re: Orac update
Hi, How are you getting on with the upgrade? Only asking as I am looking to Upgrade all of the electronics over to new PC based. Looked at CNC4PC and there C11 Breakout Board looks good. Not sure if I need C23 board for the spindle speed control as the C11 board has it built in? Any ideas on what yo...

Re: Spindle encoder screw size?
Hi,
It could be BA?
As some of the screw threads on the machine are BA.
2.7mm could be 6BA
Hope this will help.

Orac Electrics Upgrade
Hi All :delirious: , I have a denford Orac Lathe that I have rebuilt mechanically. But the electrics are getting old and temperamental. After a little research I see that converting the old electrics over to new would not take a lot. The basics that I would require are: 2 x Geckodrives (Not sure wha...
