Re: Spindle speed incorrect.
I think there must be different Chucks Fitted, I'm sure mine is a 'super Precision' and good for 5000rpm, My machine is also an older one with the 6 position tool, holder. The control card is the Syntel GSM? version. I got the software from the Denford web site and the default was set to 5000 rpm. A...

Re: Spindle speed incorrect.
When you get 3870rpm is there 10 volts on the analogue input of the VFD. if that is the case the scaling in the VFD is wrong. On My lathe 5000RPM is about 168Hz. (With the max 10V on the input) When setting up the VFD I had to change the Max frequency P06 from 50Hz, and to get the Sxxx value to tie ...

Re: Spindle speed incorrect.
Hi All, My KEB Combivert died last week, so have to bite the bullet and bought a £50 Chinese VFD (2.2KW) just to be sure ;-) The Combiverts I believe are a weak spot on the machine. I've only had the new VFD it on the machine for a couple of days, and have had to reprogram quite a few settings to ge...

Re: Mirac And no software
Does anyone know how to start the MIRAC software in offline mode so I can simulate code without the machine connected?

Re: Mirac And no software
The MIRAC is not working properly again, it looks like the power supply for the Syntel board is not starting up, the 5V rail is slow to startup and stays low for a while. Does anyone have details of the power required of the GSM Syntel board or Schemtics for the power supply.
Thanks

Re: Help wanted Identifying denford accessories
Looking at the picture the taper should fit into the tail stock, the adjustment then moves the centre of the lathe centre line. This allows the stock to be spin at and angle to the machine x axis and turn tapers.
If it is not for taper turning I'll eat my hat.

Re: Mirac And no software
Took the coolant pump out a couple of weeks ago, and opened up the impeller housing. It had some plastic swarf in it, I've cleaned it out now and the pump seems to run properly now. The machine was shipped full of coolant which has splashed all around inside the machine, so while the pump is out of ...

Re: Mirac And no software
Does anybody know how to put a directive into the G code from the desktop tutor / front panel keyboard, I think I've tried all the obvious but I can't see how, the alternate method I'm guessing is to use another editor and a normal keyboard!
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: Wanted MIRAC tooling
Hi All,
I contacted the agent above, it sounds like they might be able to help with the turret, but the tool holding was a Denford design, so I'll try Denford instead.

Re: Mirac And no software
Some good news at last, I used a DOS machine to make a new boot disk for the old internal 386, I then copied all the MIRAC.* files onto it and used a friends .opt file, and the relevant drivers from the driver.zip and the machine booted! The screen was corrupt so changed the VGA.CRT file to EGA.CRT ...

Re: Mirac And no software
Using the new PC with only one com port I put an oscilloscope on the communication wires and with Kermit (DOS terminal programming) I checked that the port is transmitting, then using the mirac.go file with qdenford.kbd I can't see any transmission from the PC then I get the error 128. I must have a...

Re: Mirac And no software
Many thanks, I'll have to try this out, your file that works, appears to have two comm ports com1 and com3 as you use $3F8 (com1) for the machine and $3E8 (com3) for a desktop tutor keyboard, is this correct? I Had not worked out that IBM.RS2 was setting the number of com ports for the machine? Been...

Great, I'll look out for the info, some is on the forum but it is quite scattered.
I was reading about spindle problems, was yours working until pressing the E-stop?

Re: Mirac And no software
Does anybody know what the macmirac.go file is for and is it important to have the port settings correct in it? still no joy with the machine, but I did get a new coolant pipe for it. I've now built a new dos machine for it, but this only has one comport, does anyone know of a PCI comport card that ...

Wanted MIRAC tooling
Hi, my MIRAC has a 6 tool changer, but is missing a couple of the wedges for clamping the tools and I've only one internal tool holder block. If anyone one has some spares I'll buy them. It will save the trouble of making more.
please Message me.

Re: Mirac And no software
Not sure about the PC at the moment, it might be that the psu has had enough, it is 22 years old, it was working fine then the next day I swapped the serial leads and now the screen is blank, the fan runs in the PC and the monitor makes a squeak (for want of a better description) at power up, and fl...
