Re: machine stops at every G code
the problem disappeared the last time the machine was restarted! wierd, since we had tried a power cycle...i wish all problems were this easy to solve.

machine stops at every G code
microrouter v4ns running vr milling ver.2 every time the machine reaches a line that begins with "G" the machine stops. as a workaround, someone babysits the machine, hits pause and then play for the machine to move on. it works, but is annoying. i feel like i just have a setting wrong. any suggesti...

Re: microrouter 4 ns not connecting to the computer
inspector x from denford solved this for me. the winding nut was causing resistance. and making the z axis lose zero. proper cleaning silicone lube fixed it.

Re: adjusting the slides on the microrouter v4 ns
figured it out with some help from 'inspector x' at denford. thanks! the y axis issue was due to the top y axis slide. the cause of that problem was that the bearing for the z axis threaded rod had slid up when i removed it for cleaning the nut and replacing the microswitch. the threaded rod was hol...

adjusting the slides on the microrouter v4 ns
there is a lot of resistance on either end of the y axis after i removed and cleaned the z axis winding nut and stepper motor coupling. i also removed and cleaned the z and y axis slides. is it possible that the slides are now out of square? how can i adjust it?

Re: y-axis resistance
i don't think it's the winding nut. when i removed the nut there was still resistance to movement at either end of the axis. i tried taking out the slides, cleaning them and lubricating them with silicone spray. there is still resistance. could the plastic sliding bushing be worn out/damaged? they d...

y-axis resistance
i'm using a microrouter v4ns. the y axis has a lot of resistance on either end of travel, so much that it causes the motor to stall as it tries to go home. i disconnected the motor and moved it by hand, finding the resistance considerable on either end of the axis. we have cleaned and lubed the slid...

Re: microrouter 4 ns not connecting to the computer
switched the rs232 cable and it started working!
however, there is an issue where it sometimes loses the z coordinate zero and plunges down until e-stop is hit. suggestions?

microrouter 4 ns not connecting to the computer
the computer is not finding the microrouter. the error message says to check that the machine is on (it is) and check the rs232 cable (the rs232 cable seems fine). i opened the control panel and the control card flashes 8. d3 and d4 are flashing at the same rate. (leading up to this problem, i was g...

Re: microrouter 4 ns stopping in the middle of a job.
i am using a dust extractor. but i have been happily using a dust extractor along (even in the cold, highly static charged winter).
if this is the problem, is there a way to use a dust extractor and not cause static issues?

microrouter 4 ns stopping in the middle of a job.
my microrouter has begun stopping in the middle of a job. the error message is 'communication error' (3 of these) then 'transmission buffer is full'.
after i click 'ok' for each of these, then pause, play, pause, play it works again (until it stops again).
any suggestions?

Re: microrouter v4 ns
that makes sense, thanks so much! I hit the switch with compressed air while flicking it on and off. that fixed the homing problem. then i had a student (I"m a high school teacher) vacuum out the machine, blow out all the crevices with compressed air and vacuum it again. then he lubricated the leads...
