Hi
Has anyone changed the spindle motor on a MicroRouter? At present I have the original Porter-Cable 3102 HD laminate trimmer unit rated at 120v-4A.
Just looking for something a bit quieter if anyone has any suggestions.

Re: X axis stiff
Martin
Thank you so much for the info, I will try this afternoon and see what happens. Hopefully it will be as good as new once it is all set up correctly
Do you know if there is an exploded diagram of a Microrouter that I can download and an operators manual?
Cheers

Re: X axis stiff
Hi How can i separate the bearings from the carriage, if I could then that may eliminate any idea that the slide rails are not running parallel to each other. It is just that the carriage is tight at each end and free in the middle makes me wonder if the rails need realigning and if there is a proce...

Re: X axis stiff
Hi angel-tech
Well the carriage is disconnected from the leadscrews so I guess that eliminates the drive belt unless I am missing something.
I am moving the carriage by hand and it is very stiff to the LHS so I guess the slide rails are a fraction out?

X axis stiff
Hi Well now Christmas is over it is time play with the microrouter I bought at the end of November :-) I have noticed that the machine is stalling when it moves quickly along the x axis towards the end of its travel to the left hand side ie away from the 'Home' position. I cleaned the antibacklash a...

Newbie : Which router bits to buy
Hi I have just bought a second hand Microrouter for general hobby use. Can anyone recommend a good selection of router bits I should buy to get me going. Also a good supplier. I want to do engraving/cutting of wood and MDF and maybe have a go at putting some photos onto perspex. There is such a sele...

Novamill transportation
Hi
Any tips on getting a 170kg Novamill into a hatchback.
It will physically fit (just about)) but can it be stripped down at all to make lifting it in a little bit easier?
