Sprint spindle controller settings
Hi, I was fiddling with the settings on the Sprint spindle controller my Novamill. I forgot to take a photo of the 'Customer Preset' dials. Would someone be able to take a photo of their board so I can set the dials back to default? Or does someone know what the dials should be set to? Thanks! Nick

Re: Bringing my Novamill back to life
Hi,
I have a converted to Mach3 Novamill. I'm currently in the process of switching over to a Smoothstepper but I'm having issues controlling the Sprint spindle board.
Did anyone get the Smoothstepper to control the Sprint board?
Would you be able to tell me your settings?
Ta,
Nick

Re: Backlash
Hi,
Did you manage to eliminate the backlash? I have about the same on mine. I tried adjusting the thrust bearings and gibs but it is still about 0.02mm on all axis.

Re: Ballscrew backlash
Hi. There was a bit of play, axial, of the screw. I snugged up the star nut on the end of the ballscrew and now the backlash is down to 0.02mm. Thanks for the tips guys!

Ballscrew backlash
Hi, I've just done a bit of maintainace of my Novamill and I checked the backlash on all three axis. X and Z were fine, 0.01mm ish, but the Y axis was way out. I measured the backlash as 0.05mm! I checked the belts and pulleys. The ballscrew rotates with the stepper but the ballnut doesn't move unti...

Re: Spindle bearing access
Got it off. Thanks chaps. It did just need a tap with a mallet, it looked like it hasn't been off for a while!

Spindle bearing access
Does anyone know how to access the spindle bearings? I think they're fine but I've run my Novamill for about a year and I'd like to check them over. I've tried taking the cover off the head but it wouldn't budge. Is it one of those things where you have to use a lot of persuasion?

Novamill case and parts for sale
Hi, I've just got a 2001 Novamill and I'm going to convert it to new electronics and steppers etc and I'm also going to build myself a new enclosure. I'm going to sell off the parts I don't need to fund the project. Maybe for sale I have the metal case containing the control electronics and the powe...
