Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

With regards to the home switches, I have them working but the x axis is around about 76-78mm to the centre of the chuck, does this sound about right? Does anyone have an exact figure? I am also building a toolpost control board as I have gievn up...

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

I'm still trying to suss out the tool changer. I'm just waiting for a reply from KEB to find out whether the speed is somthing programmed into the inverter. I've had 6 collets made up to fit the tool changer. I would attach the drawing for it (solidworks) but the extension isnt allowed, if anyone wo...

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

Ihave worked out the problem with the tool changer is Mach3s problem. It seems the visual basic in Mach3 can't be processed fast enough to interpret the tool position. Is there any way of slowing down the motor on the tool changer?

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

Ye, I'm pretty sure it is 1000 steps per mm in my case. I've also worked out that the grey code isn't correct for my machine, I'll post what mine is in a few days but its not the same as what was posted. Also I have made a few changes to the code. I'm having a little bit of a problem with it. Curren...

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

Okay the above code sort of works, I'M just ironing out the bugs at the moment. 1 Weird thing is that I make the stepping 40 steps per mm which doesnt seem quite right considering my drives are 10 microstep. Any ideas?

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

Well its been a while since I updated, I managed to blow up the breakout board so I had to fit some new chips anyway... I have made some adjustments to the program to suit the Mirac the way I have it set up. So in Mach3 when the code T0101 M6 Appears this is saying T offset, toolnumber then M6 is to...

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

Hi Guys, Sorry its been ages since I've last updated. I've been stuck twiddling my thumbs a little as I am constantly waiting for bits to turn up. I wired up most the machine. I've managed to get both axis's working, the spindle turning and the tool post turning. The Control card from CNC4PC is very...

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

After reading this thread https://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=2043&view=next The automatic tool changer is making more sense. The VB script he used is here: https://groups.yahoo.com/group/mach1mach2cnc/message/94962 As soon as I have the main board from CNC4PC I should be able to get ...

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

I have made a little progress with the machine today. I worked out that I really needed heat sinks and fans for the Geckos as per the manufactures instructions for currents over 3A. I was told a little while ago that the steppers on the Mirac draw 3.5A under load (I also found out they run at 38V). ...

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

Today I brought the electronic control box home and got the geckos out of their packaging. I was quite shocked how small they are but they seem to be excellent quality. Gecko shipped them very quickly, I received them within 3 days all the way from the US! Anyway I sat down with the control box and ...

Re: Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

The control card is an LCB3 and doesn't have any of the Euro control bits and pieces. Either way I wanted it to run on Mach3 as its something im familiar with.

Denford Mirac Electronics Refurbishment

Hi Guys, I'll start with a little back ground as this is my first post here! I purchased a new RoutoutCNC CNC router at the end of 2009 with a view to milling PCBs for production of lighting control gear and after allot of mistakes begen producing decent PCBs. I then sat down and created full 3d dra...
