Triac PNC3 – Help needed from another PNC3 owner.

Hi everyone I hope someone will be able to help me. About eighteen years ago I had a Triac PNC3 that I used for cutting parts in my workshop. A couple of years later I closed the workshop and stored the Triac “temporarily” in an old tin shed on a farm. Fifteen years later I have now finally moved th...

Re: mcm to dxf

Hi I tried it again today and it worked fine! I was trying to save the .dxf file to my desktop and it didn't work. I saved the .mcm file I was trying to export on the desktop and then it all worked fine, and works for other .dxf files, as long as there is a .mcm file where it's going . It’s like you...

Re: mcm to dxf

Hi Admin We are having the same problem with export. It just produces an empty file every time. I have exported a number of times but still the same thing happens. I have loaded the latest version and running Windows XP. Please could you look at this again? I have a job that I need to use this funct...

Re: Info required on programming arcs & circles, & software

Hi Bob I would say any PC will work for the Industrial Text Editor. I had it working on a 486, now its on a Pentium 2. I would just try and get the cheapest one you can to sit with the Triac all the time for transferring the files. By modern standards the Industrial Text Editor is such a tiny, tiny ...

Re: Info required on programming arcs & circles, & software

Hi Bob I have a Triac 1988 and have been reading most of your posts. You can programme at the machine and save it to tape, but if you can find a tape that fits, the player will probably be broken. Much better to connect an old PC (older the better!) with the cable. The most reliable programme to get ...

Re: Denford Triac 1985

Here is a guide to show what number is produced for each button. It should help find where the problem is. The numbers work there way down, then across. So button 7 produces the number 1. Button 4 produces a 2. Button 1 a 3. Button 0 a 4. Then the next row, button 8 an 5, button 5 a 6, button 2 a 7 ...

Hi I have, and use a Triac 1988. Here's a quick run down of what you need to know. In its original form: It won't do 3D, only 2.5D. It cannot be up-graded though Denford. You can programme at the machine and save it to tape, but if you can find a tape that fits, the player will probably be broken. Mu...

Hi

Here are the files I found. I was going to cut them this week but we are suddenly busy again. My ceiling decoration will have to wait for a bit. :(

I found the file online, there is also a spider one. I programme for an industrial router so can cut a giant pair in 8mm. They should be over a metre across. They should look really good fixed upside down on my 3m high workshop ceiling!

Should scare small children anyway

I often get strange problems like this and it usually comes down to a loose wire. Normally on the large connector block where the wires from the circuit board connect with the wires that go to the drives etc. When you open and close the box all these wires flex and sometimes give you a bad connectio...

Hi Barrie

Have another look at your connector. Normally it is written on the front in tiny tiny numbers. I would be very surprised if its not.

I have cut 3-4mm lead sheet with my Triac. I don't remember any problems with it clogging or binding. I seem to remember it cut really clean with lots of little chips but did leave an evil burr up the side of the cut. You can cut quite deep in one pass.

Hi guys I am back, have been ultra busy! I have thought long and hard about how much I would pay for a circuit diagram, components, settings for mach3 and maybe some email support! Truth is I don't know. I am a bit worried I have messed it up for all the hobbyist machinist who would just like some f...

Its the piggy back approach that is so good. I run a completely original machine that I have come to rely on, and so don't want to tear it apart and refit because of the huge down time. But your way would be great as if there are any problems it could be put back to original very quickly. When I sug...

Congratulations hpdrifter! It all sounds very good indeed. Have you thought about selling them? I would happily pay good money for a board that goes in my machine and everything plugs into. Maybe find out how many more people here would be interested and do a small (tiny) batch. You could get back s...
