Re: Easimill Riser Block and LinuxCNC conversion
Hi As per the PM The discs are bolted together with M12 allen bolts internally, the top disc has studs set into it for the head to sit on and the bottom disc sits on the original studs, hence the cut outs to allow bolting down The tricky thing is alignment, I drilled a M10 hole dead centre in each d...

Re: Easimill Riser Block and LinuxCNC conversion
Yes, all on one parport cable with a second card used for the pendant MPG you can just see to the back left.Is it controlled via parallel port and a breakout board ?
Spindle control via a speed board, converting step and dir into analogue voltage.

Easimill Riser Block and LinuxCNC conversion
Hi Just a picture to show both. The riser is made of 3 of 2" x 8" discs bolted together internally with appropriate cut outs. Just as well I have a big lathe! It has revolutionised my work on the mill, I can use a large machine vice without running out of headroom and I can still bolt workpieces dir...

Hi I have converted my Easimill to EMC2, using the original PSU and wiring but upgrading / removing most of the rest. It is all on Ebay, Steppers, CD20 stepper drivers, VDU and boards complete, processor board, keyboard and keys, PNC3 fascia, proximity switches, along with some spare keyboard switch...

Re: HELP --- ARNI 829 B inverter
Hi Thanks for the reply, have sorted it out now. The inverter board certainly looks like original equipment, fits perfectly. Could not find any info on the net, save that a company will sell you a refurbished one for £575!! The connections are the same as wiring diagram A3/200038, albeit the abbrevi...

HELP --- ARNI 829 B inverter
Hi I have an Easimill 3 with this inverter board. It appears to be made by Toshiba from references in google. It is not mentioned on this forum ( at least a search for ARNI was negative). Do you have a manual for it? All my wiring diagrams refer to a Combivert inverter and some .pdfs I was given whe...

Re: Linux DNC program for PNC3 controllers
Hi again, I have now improved and added to the PNC3Comm program. As well as a better GUI for DNC operations, there are code generators for some of the canned cycles sadly missing from the PNC3: PCD Bolt Circle Drilling with optional Peck Drilling Hole Pattern Drilling with optional Peck Drilling Rin...

EASIMILL - Motors Info
Hi I am starting to get intermittent lost steps in G00 rapids, especially short retractions on the Y axis, but occasionally X and Z also. I am managing this for now by programming high feed speed G01 moves instead of G00, which seems to work. The steppers are 25 years old, Nema 42 size and the drive...

Re: Easimill3 PNC3 canned cycles
Hi I ran a diagnostic prior to zeroing and the PNC is v 3.86B 31/1/1985 If you enter G and press enter when manually loading a program it shows G81 as an option but not G82 - 84 I think I must have a PNC4 manual for some reason. Pity, I have had to write a peck drilling cycle template using G81 and ...

Easimill3 PNC3 canned cycles
Hi I have an Easimill3 which came with a pukka Denford loose leaf folder containing the maintenance and programming manual. This manual describes canned cycles G82, G83 and G84, which are only usable within programs and gives examples. (Peck drilling, circular pocket and rectangular pocket) I have a...

Linux DNC program for PNC3 controllers
Hi All, I bought an Easimill 3 not long back, originally intending to convert to EMC2. However I found it was so convenient to have a machine with a stand alone controller that I have left it as is for now. The problem I was left with was that the legacy Denford DNC software only ran on Win98 or DOS...
