Thanks, that's the one I'm looking at, but I can't find any info anywhere about this machine, and the seller hasn't replied to my question relating to the machines operational state. Bob

Re: zero turn lathe
Seems my cyclone spec plate was stamped wrong. Says main motor was 5hp, but beside that it says 2.2kw, which converts to 3hp, which is as rightly pointed out on one reply. Thanks.

zero turn lathe
I have been offered a zero turn lathe, but ask if this is more powerful than the cyclone I owned. Looks to me that both have a 5 hp main motor ?
Also, it's says it's a slant bed, but compared to my cyclone, it doesn't look the same layout. Bob

Re: Turret problem part 2
Thanks
We are talking about the same thing I trust, the tiny micro switch mounted on the plate that is inside the housing on the right hand side of the turret control. If so , any part number or technical description please would be useful so I can order a replacement from the link you gave me

Re: Turret problem part 2
Amendment.
I think I have called the microswitch, mounted in the end of the turret control housing, beside the green rotary switch, a relay.
I guess this is what you call the turret clamp switch ?
The is a RH-80 turret

I will have to ask where this is located, and what diagnostic bit, and where that is hiding.

Turret problem part 2
Well, it seems the problems we found were not the overall cause of our troubles. What is happening now is the turret will rotate and lock once if activated manually, but a second posistion will not take place if the position knob on the lower part of the control is put to another tool position numbe...

Re: Turret position alarm
Seems the problem was one of the 2 screws that hold the flat drive key under the encoder had fallen out. This allowed the 2 sliding keys to misalign. Cleaned all the muck out and reassembled. Turret doesnt rotate at all now, seems to jamb up. I think the 2 sliding keys or dogs are not in the right p...
