Hi,
Do you still need this tool changer? I am "considering" selling a tool changer from an Orac - do you want to make an offer?

Re: EasiMill backlash adjustment
Hi, Just the ball screw details on x and y I think - I would like to try and improve things on my machine so if you had any thoughts about identifying alternative screws and nuts - that would be useful. Apart from the control system of course my machine is pretty much as it arrived but with a bit of...

Re: EasiMill backlash adjustment
Hi, This is really useful - rather hoping you might post some pics of the X axis arrangement and details of the nuts as you go. Do you have any plans to replace the screw and nuts or are yours in good shape? You are clearly in the middle of a refurb - is this a hobby or something you do for a living...

Re: EasiMill backlash adjustment
Hi Denford, Just been fiddling with it now - the X direction looks to have two "devices" on the ball screw with a gap between them - no sign of anything to adjust - although adjustment not needed of course. The Y axis is tricky to get to see but looking from the front it looks like a flanged device ...

Re: EasiMill backlash adjustment
Ok - So I backed off the nut on the lead screw and took it back up again to the point where the ball screw shaft just doesn't move when switching from clockwise to anticlockwise roataion - I think that this is now properly adjusted. Next to the taper gib - played with this quite a lot. Adjusting unt...

Re: EasiMill backlash adjustment
My previous message was meant to say on the X axis - I adjusted the nut and have a complete cure on the X axis but the Y axis is putting up a fight. I have adjusted the nut and am conerned that I might be over tightening, but I am still left with some backlash - is the ball screw nut adjustable in a...

Re: EasiMill backlash adjustment
Ok thanks - I have started looking at the X axis - is that lock nut and tab washer at the drive end or at the handwheel end? Same question I guess for the Y axis

EasiMill backlash adjustment
Hi, Can anyone advise on the approach to taking out backash on the EasiMill X and Y axes. I have a few thou backlash in both axes and would like to take this out if possible as I am machining some round things that do need to be properly round. Are there any assembly drawings or maintenance instruct...

Hi,
Just dropped back into the forum for a look around and spotted your post. Unfortunately the Denford spares went one way or another quite a while ago.
Sorry

Orac Stepper Motor Current Limit
Hi, Just finishing off a conversion putting Mach3 onto an old Orac using Gecko drives and a CNC4PC breakout board. What should the current limit be set to for the X and Z stepper motor drives? I see that the original electronics had 7.5A fuses in the lines between the torroidal transformer and the b...

Wanted - Orac Tool Changer
Hi,
I am based in Cheshire and am just working on an Orac conversion to run with Mach3 Geckos etc and wondered if anyone had a tool changer that was not required - I assume that tool changers did exist.....?
Thanks

Cassette Unit
Hi,
Not a cassette unit I am afraid, that didn't work so eventually went in the bin. I do have a brand new cassette from NE controls though. This cost me over £50!!!!! £25 would be nice but no reasonable offer refused now.

Easimill spares going in the bin!
I have no response to the free spares add so they will go in the bin this weekend. I don't feel too good about this but I think I have done my best to find the bits a new home.

Easimill Spares - Digiplan drivers PNC3 and other PCBs
Hi, I have decided to install a new control system in my Easimill and have very carefully removed a number of original parts from the machine thinking that other owners might be interested in getting hold of some spares? For simplicity I have listed the parts on Ebay, search for Denford. I have list...

Thanks
Thanks for this. I am working up to stripping out the original PNC3 controller and going for Mach 3 with Gecko drives. My plan is to use the existing stepper power supply (55Volt) with a Sound Logic break out board from Bob Campbell. I just need to decide on what Geckos to buy, any thoughts? From wh...
