Re: How to view Up! G-code?
I don't know if how you get to see the file it produces. I guess it all depends on the size of the heater which in turn will allow more or less material to be melted & the feed rates then calculated from that. That's a sensible thought - does anyone know the heater sizes? I think the Ender has a ma...

Re: How to view Up! G-code?
What are you using to convert you stl files to gcode? We have a couple of creality machines in work and use Cura to do the slicing/post processing. Why not dload that and look at the speed settings for the ender3 and the up machines. I know it can all be tweaked in Cura. Thanks for the idea - we us...

Re: How to view Up! G-code?
I suppose this seems like a foolish question! I wanted to know why my Up! printer prints things so much more quickly than a Creality Ender 3. Viewing the G-code might give some clues. Any thoughts, anyone?

How to view Up! G-code?
Hi, I am trying to view the G-code that the Up! machine is using. Is that possible? Can't seem to export it. Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks
Thanks

DXF into VRMilling adds extra lines
Hello, I am generating a toolpath using a DXF straight into VRMilling. However, when I switch from screen 1 to screen 2 some extra lines are added which we do not want to cut! Can you help us? (Please view attached images; the second screen is above the first screen) Thanks. Denford Novamill VRMilli...

Re: Novamill/VR5 Milling jog keys reversed?
Scratch that - problem solved! (How do I delete this post?)
Or, in the spirit of a forum, I'll post the answer:
Top menu > set up > jog keys
Enter passwprd (can I write this here?)
Select axis & press desired key.

Novamill/VR5 Milling jog keys reversed?
Hi - The arrow keys that jog the Novamill seem to be operating backwards. I recall last time I used it it was ok. Can I change it back again somehow?
Thanks

Re: Gerber import - drill file in *.txt format
Hi - I have attached the two drl files. Both seem to be in inches, but the co-ordinates differ. There doesn't seem to be a 25.4 factor correlation with the two files. (drl files not allowed so they are re-named txt files) I have tried changing the 'inch' line to 'mm', but it didn't seem to work. Is ...

Re: Gerber import - drill file in *.txt format
Hi Steve, yes I can! I compared the txt with a 'proper' drl and addedd a G81 at the beginning, changed the suffix and it works. Kind of. The scale and origin seem a bit odd. Here's some photos? board using fritzing.PNG I have also used DesignSpark, and those holes work well, but the board seems to b...

Gerber import - drill file in *.txt format
I am using an app called Fritzing for a PCB design. It is a nice intuitive piece of software that does nearly everything I need, and the copper tracks import fine into VR Milling. However, the drill data is exported in *.txt format and VR Milling is looking for a *.drl format. Any suggestions?

Re: Access Violation error opening dxf file with VR milling
Brilliant! Problem solved. I was using the default dxf output which was 2013. I cracked one off using v2000 and bingo - works fine.
Thanks very much
(I could do some experimenting - but you might know the most up to date version it will import?)

DXF Import Error
Hi-
I am trying to open a dxf file with VR Milling, but keep getting an "Access Violation at address 064AE7FE (or similar number) in module 'VECAD.dll'"
I have tried it on two different computers with similar results. I am running Win 7, with a new install of the latest VR Milling.
Thanks

VR Milling DXF Importer query
Hi - I am using the VR Milling (Ver 5.49.0.613) DXF Importer to cut a simple profile out of 3mm steel. However, the Novamill only cuts 1mm deep and finishes, despite my entering 3mm on the billet depth and also the Z Retract Height, on the last screen. I assumed that it was going to continue going d...

Re: Sudden Z drop
OK - so it seems the old girl is getting on a bit, and she can't cope with the rough-and-tumble of the turbo any more.
Let's hope that slowing down gives a new lease of life. Thanks for your help!

Re: Sudden Z drop
Hmm.. some success. Tried your last suggestion about turning off the turbo, and it seemed to work fine. I have been cutting similar jobs at full speed for, well, years now. Why is it suddenly going wrong? I have tried a *.fnc file that I made in Summer, and that was ok, it just seems to be files tha...

Re: Sudden Z drop
Thanks again. Slides are well lubed, and gib strips working well. No backlash, and running VR Milling 5.49.0.613. I have noticed that the VR Millling software registers the tool 3mm below the surface, but it is actually 8mm down. If we suppose that the PC and the Mill are ok, then it suggests that t...

Hi, finally managed to do your suggestion, thanks. All drivers are up to date.
Problem still ongoing, seemingly at random. Any more suggestions?
