VLS 40w machine using latest software (2.19.34) downloaded and installed this week.

I am having problems trying to score a line onto 1mm card. I create blue lines but, even at "paper" setting with the vector marking turned to minimum, the laser still cuts through the card. Is there any way I can reduce the power further? Can the matrials database be edited to give me a suitable set...
