Triac ATC Errors help please from HELP WITH ERRORS NEEDED

Post by celad2001 » Tue 22 May , 2007 14:32 pm

I HAVE STARTED ANOTHER THREAD from HELP WITH ERRORS NEEDED PLEASE
AS IT WAS GETTING CONFUSED

FANUC TRIAC 0-M WAS SUFFERING FROM AN ERROR 102 ? DUE TO SOMEONE POWERING DOWN WHEN IN RECIEVE MODE..

AFTER SOME TIME WE HAVE RE-ENTERED THE CORRUPTED CODES FROM A SHEET WE FOUND WITH ..

BUT WE NOW HAVE 3 ERRORS WHICH WERE NOT THERE BEFORE WE ASSED ABOUT WITH IT..
1004 DRIVE TRANSFORMER OVERHEAT ( this comes on immediately)
1010 LOW AIR PRESSURE
520 OVER TRAVEL +Y

ans..

The Triac sounds like you need to input the correct 450 diagnostics. (Diagnostics 450 to 458 ish are what Denfords set specific to each machine.)
See if you can find a record of what they were shipped out with.
If you have a ATC fitted then you will need to get a air supply to overcome the Air Message.

Have you set the 700 parameters? (machine limits)

We may still have a record of them at Denfords if you can supply the serial number & year of manufacture.

ans...Re: Triac problems...

450 Diagnostic numbers in the Triac are used to enable / disable certain options in the machine.

If you have wiped the Machines memory you must set diag 453.0 to 1, then shut down and power the machine back up. This sets up some default values (and in turn resets 453.0 back to 0)

Now from the list below you can see you need to set Diag 450 bit 6 (your machine doesn't have a transformer thermal sensor) and probably 452 bit 5 (your machine doesn't have an air pressure switch ??).

Now you should be almost there... the overtravel message should clear once you jog away from the software limit.

OK THAT LOOKS VERY HOPEFUL REGRETTABLY I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY SCREEN WITH 450 AVAILABLE ..THE EDIT SCREENS GO TO 399 THE NEXT PARAMETER AVAILABLE IS 500 THERE ARENT ANY BETWEEN THOSE VALUES..???

WE HAVE DOCUMENTATION LISTING
450 AS 01000000
451 AS 01000011
453 AS 00000001

700 PARAMETERS DOCUMENTED
0700,0701,0702.0703,0704,0705,0706,0707,0708
none in the 730 area..??

TRIAC ATC SERIAL 27070C ELECTRONICS SERIAL NO IS 910173.

I HAVE 4 SHEETS WITH 900 PARAMETERS (0900-0913) BUT DONT KNOW WHICH OF THE 3 MACHINES EACH RELATES TO :-) I WILL TRY THEM ALL....

THE 1010 LOW AIR IS UNAFFECTED WHEN AIR IS SUPPLIED AT CORRECT PRESSURE

is there a parameter to display the 450 menu or is there a special way to access that menu.??

regards alec

You are getting confused. The Parameters & Diagnostics are not the same. You can swap between them by pressing the "DGNOS/PARAM" button

The Parameters & Diagnostics are not the same
Absolutely - you need to be careful to check which page you are looking at - Diagnostic values and Parameter values are two completely different sets of numbers

Parameters are the Fanuc parameters which have the same functions on any machine
The mid-range Diagnostics (eg 450) are timer, counter and settings bits for the PLC which will be different for every machine tool builder / machine.
The low range diagnostics show hardware input and output status and PLC flags
The higher range Diagnostics (700+ i think) show info on the axes and spindle such as micron position, error / lag etc...

WELL..
THANKS TO YOUR HELP I HAVE SUSSED THE DIAGNOSTIC/PARAMETERS SCREENS..DONT LAUGH...

FIDDLING WITH THE 450 SERIES CODES
I NOW HAVE CLEARED THE ....
1004 DRIVE TRANSFORMER OVERHEAT
1010 LOW AIR PRESSURE
520 OVER TRAVEL +Y

I AM NOW LEFT WITH 511 OVER TRAVEL -X

WHICH I CANT CLEAR DESPITE ALL MY EFFORTS AT ALTERING THESE SETTINGS...

TRIED THE CLEAR PQ THING TO CLEAR ERRORS

I HAVE A SNEEKING SUSPICION THIS 511 FAULT WAS THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM BEFORE ALL AND SUNDRY HAD A FIDDLE WITH THIS MACHINE

INCIDENTALLY I GET A 1008 SPINDLE DRIVE FAULT WHICH APPEARS BRIEFLY WHEN I PRESS THE AXIS LIMIT OVERRIDE .. IT CLICKS THEN FLASHES UP THE 1008

DO I TAKE IT THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC CODES WHICH YOU KINDLY SUPPLIED WORK IN REVERSE.? ON THIS MACHINE IT SEEMS THAT THE 452 .5 AIR PRESSURE SWITCH CONTROLLED BY THE
452 00X00000 BIT

SOMEONE HERE JUST SUGGESTED THE BITS ARE IN ORDER OF SIGNIFICANCE RATHER THAN LEFT TO RIGHT..??

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP HERE...

I think the bits are numbered as follows:-

7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0

So you are right,
452.5 (bit 5) is 00X00000

If the 511 alarm is the only problem (and the overtravel parameters are as they should be), then you should be able to power on while holding down Q/P and CAN to clear the error.

I CANT CLEAR THE 511

I HAVE 511 OVERTRAVEL
WITH A FLASHING "NOT READY ALARM"

WHERE ARE THE OVERTRAVEL PARAMETERS..??

IN.. POS-ALL I HAVE ALL AT 0.00
APART FROM
MACHINE
X-3.473
Y-0.003
Z-0.000
PRESUMABLY THIS IS AN INDICATION OF THE PROBLEM

COULD I MANUALLY MOVE IT ..??
SORRY TO BE A PAIN...

Fanuc 0-MB (I'm sure its the same on 0-A 0-B and 0-C controls) limit params are:
700 is maximum positive travel in X
704 is maximum negative travel in X

701 is maximum positive travel in Y
705 is maximum negative travel in Y

702 is maximum positive travel in Z
706 is maximum negative travel in Z

if you make 700 a smaller number than 704, then the software limits are infinite, ie disabled for the X axis

Note that the limit values will be in micron units relative to the home position eg:
N0700 P 00250000 is 250mm from home
.
.
N0704 P-00040000 is -40mm from home

It may be that you are on a limit switch.
You will need to clear the "not ready message"

1. Make sure that the Emergency Stop push button is not pressed in.
2. Press & hold the button marked "Axis Limit Overide". If this clears the message you will need to jog the axis away from the switch while holding the push button in.
