I got this Microturn last week. It is partially taken apart. I can only guess why.
The Z-axis motor is mechanically disconnected from the axis. It is still wired up.
The position of the cutting tool is worrisome. However, there does not seem to be any sign of impact.
I have not tried to hook it up to power yet. (The Micromill came first)
I need to disengage the tool from the chuck.
I need to inspect for mechanical damage.
I need to find or create any missing parts or hardware.
I need to get it back together.
Is there any good exploded drawing of what should be where?
I see this link viewtopic.php?f=36&t=4083
The drawing does not include the motors nor the detail for how they should be coupled to the leadscrews.
Would that have been done by Denford or by Sherline? Might there be a different drawing?
Regards,
Kevin

It looks like the Z axis coupling has snapped.
You should be able to turn the ballscrew on the left to bring it out of the chuck.

Re: I got this Microturn last week. It is disassembled a bit
I was able to rotate the toolpost and get it away from the chuck.
I am working on getting it apart enough to see what I need to order.
I still need to get the other part of the coupler off the end of the leadscrew. I see how it goes together though.
I need one motor coupler.
I need one limit switch for the crossslide axis. (It does not click)
I need one toothed belt for the motor on the lower left behind the spindle. Is that a tapping attachment?

Yes that is the spindle encoder used for threading.
If you contact Graham at Denfords he should be able to provide prices.
