VersLaser Driver Issue

Post by bugs78 » Mon 12 Jan , 2015 17:00 pm

Hi All,

We are having some issues with one of our laser cutters, whenever we try and print from 2D Design it open the ULS software it then says the print job is 2.3 and and the machine is 3.5 please update the driver.

I have updated the driver and actually installed 2.3 and 3.5 but I still get the same error.

the machine is standalone and not connected to the internet or a network at all.

Thanks

When you connect to the laser what machine does it think it is? Think it displays it on the top line.

just an idea,

unplug the USB lead, uninstall the software and the drivers FULLY.
go through the install process again ensuring it I set as default.

I have had an issue with VL drivers where it looses the bed size and changes it to 8.5 inch by 11.67inch rather than the ~600mm x 300mm. the only way to sort this to fully remove any reference to the laser.
When it is plugged in again the PC must have to install everything again USB drivers the lot.

Hi Pete, just uninstall the printer in devices & printers then add it selecting a printer attached to this computer.

Cheers Martin,
not wanting to hijack this thread, but the issue has got worse for me since I handed over my departments computers to the schools IT guys (moved from XP to win7 and to the school wide network a couple of years ago), they have scripts to load printers so kids can only gain access to printers local to the PCs they are on (rather than sending work half way across the school), every now and then the computer attached to the laser will load the wrong printer as default (could be for me or any of the students) once this has happened the swapping the page size to inches about 8 x 11 hits everyone that tries to use the laser.
They have just reset it all for me, and it was fine on my log on but when 7 different kids tried it today it was back to inches 8x11 however I tried again at the end of the day and it was fine under my log on.

I don't fully understand what is happening and have no idea of how the policies/scripts work, they haven't got a clue about controlling the machines our how our software works. Very frustrating as I feel like piggy in the middle.

ill Pass what you have said on (if you have more info so not to hijack this further, you could PM me)

Cheers Pete

Hi Guys,

So, I uninstalled all the drivers and software and re-nstalled and I still get the same issue the software recognizes the machine as a 2.30 but its not its a 3.50.

also the bed size isnt correct it looks like its in inches and its 40 by something else I think.

im going to try with a different laptop on monday, ill post my findings

What machine type does it say on the top line of the software when connected?

If you go in to the system tab you can change the units to metric.

Hi Martin,

In the software at the top it says the machine is a 2.30, but the actual machine is a 3.50 it seems like its not detecting it correctly.

We have made sure the units are in metric, but it doesnt seem to change them.
