Quick Cam Pro Cutting anticlockwise

Post by SD94 » Thu 20 Aug , 2015 4:32 am

Hi
It seems that with Quick Cam Pro when you set the plans to cut only one way, it still cuts anticlockwise even know the simulation still shows clockwise.
Any Ideas thanks.

This is a link to the video that shows the MRC 40 cutting clockwise then anticlockwise even know we have told it not to cut anticlockwise

There is no way to control the direction of the cut in QuickCAM PRO. Uni directional will just stop the cutter cutting in both directions as a raster cut.

The best way to resolve the issue you have here would be to use QuickCAM 2D to create the cutter path. In this package you can control the cut direction of each cutter path.

If you upgraded to the V-Carve version you can also leave tabs on the parts to retain them.

The parts designed are only 2 D designs and QuickCAM PRO is really a CAM package for 3 D Parts. Using QuickCAM 2D the finished parts would be more accurate and the cycle time would be improved.

From Inventor export the profile of the gears as a DXF in V13, V14 or 2000 format. Then import the DXF into QuickCAM 2D Design.
