Problem to run Mirac.exe from a 3.5" Floopy Disk, MiracPC

Post by donatellotam » Tue 14 Aug , 2012 10:34 am

Hello all

I tried my best to search and look for answer from the forum. I hate to ask without making any effort.
Long story short, I have a MiracPC and no windows based software to operate it.
I searched for answer and I think a boot disk could help.

DOS Bootdisk made and working, I can go to the DOS Operating system.
Then I take out the DOS Bootdisk and insert a "SELF MADE" Mirac Bookdisk"

I'm attaching the pictures to show my machine's plate and THE RESULT I captured from the screen.

After BootDisk brings me to the DOS OS, and I remove the DOS bootDisk and put in my "SELF MADE Mirac BootDisk"

Error code <50>, <128> came out after I executed autoexec.bat from Mirac directory.
I heard about .Go and .Opt and here they: (They are both copied from genius in this forum)

I can provide more information if needed. Many thanks.

Hi,
Please try to reduce the size of images, those of us with mere 22" monitors can't see them properly!
It is also a real PITA for me to reduce them myself

Thanks!

Have you got the machine hooked up to the RS232 com: port 3 ?
This post may help with the .go settings

Welcome, I should have thought of that. Resize done.

But no, I'm using com1 for the Mirac, and com2 for the Triac.
I tried Fanucl today, program starts and I can write a program, however, no luck to send that to Mirac.
I'm curious about the Fanucl could control my MIrac or not, as I saw it said offline program.
I have a strange feeling that may be Fanucl just can't make my MIrac move at all.
Anyone could tell me if I'm using the correct program? Does it able to control the Mirac?
Or should I be looking for different DOS software like Mirac or Flstep?

According to this viewtopic.php?t=738
You should be using Mirac software - according to an inpection sheet for a December 1994 it had a GSM controller.
This was the .opt and .go file for that machine: note that $3F8 4 MACHINE would put the machine connection on COM1: so you might want to remove the $3F8 4 COM1 entry

Thanks, Admin.
Your .Go and .Opt sample and post inspire me to do the modification.
Please find the following:

Machine connected to COM1 plus using QWERTY keyboards.

.GO

IBM.RS2 2
$3F8 4 COM1
$3F8 4 MACHINE
QDENFORD.KBD 1
18.2 0
VGA.CRT 0
MIRAC.APP

[Please find that QDENFORD.KBD 1 should be working with 18.2 0, instead of 18.2 $2F8 3]

.MACMIRAC

IBM.RS2 2
$3F8 4 COM1
QDENFORD.KBD 1
18.2 0
EGA.CRT 0
MIRAC.APP

[It should be same to the .GO file]

.OPT

IBM.RS2 2
$3F8 4 COM1
QDENFORD.KBD 1
18.2 0
EGA.CRT 0
MIRAC.APP

I can start the Denford Mirac DOS V2.25 after put the above three file into same directory.
Please feel free to contact me if anyone needs my disk.

However, I'm still trying to get familiar with the MIRAC DOS now, as the QWERTY keyboard is very unfriendly.
Will update everyone when I can handle the software and machine completely.

That's great - thanks for letting us know this information is helping. (We have very little experience of it here)

Hello Everything

Tired the MiracPC with Mirac.exe today. QWERTY is a bit ticky.
After homed the X and Z, you can press ALT plus J like everything said on the forum to change to JOG mode.
Pressing NUM LOCK keys "5" plus 2, 4, 6 or 8 could have the maximum Feed of 1200 for X +/- and Z+/-.
I believe the C or may be F could increase the override too max 150%.
I changed to one-step mode accidentally once and having the X and Z move in increment rate of 0.1 (or may be 0.01).
Still figuring out the correct key to change back to continue mode.
Anyway, end of my first report. Great experience of using DENFORD's product .

ps: I believe it could be better if I can get hands on the VRturning, Mirac.exe is a bit slow.
