MasterCAM error

Post by boots » Fri 07 Dec , 2007 16:15 pm

Micromill 2000
When trying to run a .fnc file created in MasterCAM (designed in metric & following the instruction for the post process), We got an "Exceeds Limits" error. After checking offsets and everything , we noticed that the values of the X,Y, & Z moves where alot larger than the original design.

When checking the .fnc file, there is a G20 (inch output) at the beginning of the machine code.
We changed that to G21 (metric output) and now the .fnc file runs perfect.

If you are using MasterCAM, make sure you check the .fnc file for the proper G20 (inch) or G21 (metric) code near the top of the machine code file.

Did you use mastercam to design and make the part or did you design the part in mastercam and import it in to the denford software to make it? What version mastercam did you use?
