DOS upgrade machine problems with VR Turning

Post by Denford Admin » Fri 03 Nov , 2006 15:34 pm

A customer has been having problems with 3 Mirac machines which have been upgraded from DOS, to VR Turning.

The problems are a bit random but in general the operation of the machines is sluggish, and feedrate changes occur at the wrong time - you may also find that some commands or linear moves are skipped at random.

The solution lies with the control type parameter in the Communications section.
By default it is set to 5
Change this to 0
This change will utilise a different RS232 driver, which we have found runs reliably on NT/2000/XP systems.
It will also recognise whether a new EPROM chip (v2.1) is fitted and adjust the protocol to suit.
