VRTurning v.1.20 - Major Timeout Error: MB319 -or- ST3

Post by BuckeyeSupport » Thu 28 May , 2009 14:27 pm

We've installed and correctly configured the VRTurning software onto our computer. We have a Novaturn and it has been selected as the machine for VRTurning use.

We get the error when we click on the Machine icon in VRTurning. The hourglass appears and shortly afterwards we recieved a pop-up box saying: "Major Timeout Error MB319" if we click OK we then get another box that says "Major Timeout Error ST3".

Anyone ever have this problem?

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile

Sounds like the RS232 cable is faulty - do a check from PC to the connector that goes into the Baldor circuit board like this:

It could also be worth changing control type 0 to 5 (or vice versa) in parameters:
5. We have had problems with win 2000 / XP and our machine control software in the past - make sure that the VR software is up to date here, and that the control type is set to 0 - not 5 - this makes use of 2000/XP friendly RS232 drivers.

The machine connects to the computer via USB.

You must have the wrong controltype selected then - the major timeout errors are from older controltypes (0 or 5) which only connect via RS232.

Check you have NovaTurnNS (not NovaTurn) selected in machine parameters, and control type set to 9 in the communication section
