Post by Martin » Thu 12 Mar , 2009 9:44 am

Fault
During a Auto Tool Change the turret moves to the correct position & then reverses into position but the software does not register & locks up.The software is VRTurning ver 1.19 & the toolpost is a DM8.

Try logging on as a Administrator. There are several files in the VRTurning directory that need read/write permissions.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Did logging on as Admin fix it ?
It sounds more like the Turret needs resetting by trying an M27 ?
(M27 is not available on older lathes)

Yes it was down to read/write permissions.

The file that causes the toolchange to hang up is the machine's .ini (parameter) file.
These are located here on a standard installation:
C:\Program Files\Denford\VRTurning\Config
The software is trying to set the current tool number, for the next time the software is used
So, this folder and all its files should be able to be read/written.

In fact, all files and folders in
C:\Program Files\Denford\VRTurning\
should be read/writable by all users.
