Auto tool changer vibrating noisily in certain positions.

Hi there,
I fired up the novaturn machine after it had been sitting idle for a few months. I am now having a lot of problems with it. The turret is vibrating very badly and is very hot. It only occurs though in certain postions.
If I change from tool 1 to another, everytime I pass one of the other postions the machine gives a loud click, then as it passes the selected postion it gives 8 loud clicks as it returns to it's correct position.
At some positions the stepper motor is stalled when it reaches it's position giving the impression that the coil sequence within the motor is mixed up and is therefore opposing itself as it vibrates very badly. This occurs in positions 1,2,5,6,8.
Positions 3,4 and 7 are fine. Can I assume in achieving some positions correctly that the cabling is okay and it is pointing more towards the controller end of things. The machine will run in all of the positions but I do not want to damage it or burn out the stepper motor.
Best regards,
Tim.
