yes i have seen the help files in ASRS software, they guide how to use the software and our problem is dealing with issues like drive over load ,feedback trip and motor over load.. So we need to get a lead on that..

1. Has the ASRS been working recently?
2. Are the axes linear guides clean and lubricated?

yes..! we have tightened some of the connections of motors and ASRS is moving correctly now... The help is really appreciated.. but now the problem is when we use E-stop.. the Z-axes motor is stuck means it is not mechanically free..
and can you please tell me what are "axes linear guides" and "energy chain"... Thanks

Hi, The energy chain is the plastic chain that supports the electrical cables on the axes that move, it looks as though the X axis energy chain is broken and unsupported at one end. The linear guides are the cylindrical bars that support the carriages and allows each axis to run smoothly, if all axes are now homing then they will be OK, but keep them clean and lightly lubricated. If you have any of the axes on a "OVER TRAVEL SENSOR" then the drives will not power up, when powering up keep your finger on the AXIS OVERRIDE button and the drives will power up, if you then jog the offending axis off the over travel sensor you should be able to take you finger off the AXIS OVERRIDE button.

I'm pretty sure the Z axis has a mechanical brake on it.
This will only release when the drive is energised and in (closed-loop) control of the motor

plus there are two limit switches on the top of Z-axes motor, kindly tell me that if the lower limit switch is homing position of the Z-axes.
Thanks.

The bottom switch is the HOME switch, the top switch is the OVER TRAVEL switch

Hi, now the ASRS is working good enough. but now sometimes when we are programming ASRS for pick routine, at some points it says "data specified out of range" while the station is still in the working space.. kindly direct me how to solve this problem.
Regards.

Not sure what has caused this problem, it may be a corrupted ini file or something. When does the error message occur ?

it gives the error when moves in x direction and reaches the storage compartments. before storage compartment area it moves in both dir forward and backward

"data specified out of range" could be related to an invalid position value.
Have a good look at the file ASRS.OPT in C:\Program Files\Denford\ASRS
Check the numbers in there are valid...sometimes the file can store a value with an exponential like this: 1.4E5 and this could cause the error.

The other reason for the error could be that the array of positions is not set correctly and the program is trying to access a storage location which is not defined (double check ASRS.OPT)

Original .OPT, .MNT and .INI files
