PITSCO - F1 Race System - No manual operation

Post by bradders » Thu 16 Apr , 2009 7:08 am

Basically the launch system works OK in Automatic mode, but in Manual mode neither of the launch pods will work, have tried swapping the push buttons and pods over but the problem is still there.

In a sitation where the system will work in AUTO MODE but not MANUAL MODE then usually the problem lies in the electronics on the Start Gate PCB

I'm almost 100% sure that the problem lies with the input pin toggled from the auto/manual selector switch. This is the same problem we've seen in the past. Current systems are built with protection against this.

To fix it, you need to replace the main processor chip in the Start Gate PCB (the PIC16F877 40-pin chip)..that will fix it.

Just buy the chip (the PIC16F877 40-pin) in any electronic hardware store and replace the main processor chip in the Start Gate PCB?
This chip don´t need to be programmed?
