Can I unlock a door without power?

Post by Steve » Thu 16 Mar , 2006 22:03 pm

The guard on Denford routers is locked if the power is off, the spindle is running or the machine is in E Stop.

Is it possible to over ride the locking guard switch?

There is an inspection plate at the front of the machine under the guard switch. If you slide the machine forward on a bench (taking care not to slide it too far so it would fall off) and look underneath, the plate can be removed with 4 screws.

The Red guard switch is now visible. There is a manual lock bypas built into the switch body. To bypass the lock you must first remove the philips head screw then turn the override through 90 degrees and the door will unlock.
