Motor spindle will not turn

Post by coach_pent » Tue 12 Nov , 2013 17:48 pm

Preface by saying...I have a MicroMill that was manufactured in 1997 and I am using DOS software on a Windows 95 machine. I teach in a Junior High school and have a limited budget. Thus, the lack of updates.
The motor for the Y axis will engage when I try to home the machine and I can feel it move. However, the spindle on the motor will not spin in order to move the leadscrew. I had the problem and changed the motor thinking it was the problem. The problem continued after changiong the motor. The machine has been great and has worked all these years but now it has this one problem and I have been unable to figure it out.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are running VRMlling you can use the secret home button & run the Y.

You can also plug the Y in the X drive.

I don't believe I am using VRmilling because my system is very old. My mill is a 1997 model and I am using Windows 95 OS.
