Post by jonny » Mon 25 Feb , 2013 0:50 am

Hi all,
Powered up the machine today and got 1008 spindle drive error.
All axis move and the machine homes, atc turns.
Drawbar wont open and spindle wont turn on strange.
I looked at the spindle board and there are no led's on, is this ok?
any help would be appreciated.

morning jonny,

as a note, my orignial fault on the ZT was the 1008 (with a few other bits), the problem was the 24V line ans solved by replacing the PSU.

no ideas off hand, re the leds

regards
Graham

If you have the electrical drawings then check all the connections to the drive have power.
Check any fuses you can find...no LED's could well mean it has no supply (something has blown inside the drive or the supply)

Hi Guys, thanks for the help.

Graham, the 24v psu is fine, i checked it bang on 24v. Lights and limits work all powered by 24v. You wanted some info, pm me your tel no and i will give you a call.

I will check the electrical connections, but wiring said axis and spindle drives powered from same point, so i would have thought they both wouldnt work?

I will let you know.

Its a funny world, turned the spindle circut breaker off and fired it up same error, turned it off, turned breaker on felt a bit strange, fired it up, all works now spindle drive lights on and runs.
Funny thing is i tried this yesterday
It must be the circut breaker, i will give them a good clean and test.

It was one of those days yesterday. Drama everywhere.

Thanks

John
