Upper belt tension adjusters?

Post by YouraT » Thu 09 Apr , 2015 21:42 pm

Hi guys

Ok - so, how do the adjusters for the top belt work?

I'm trying to adjust the top belt tension - the adjusters on the intermediate shaft are (I think the older type) brass with a single screwdriver slot to turn them, but they are so stiff that I'm wondering if I've missed a lock screw somewhere. Also struggling to find a screwdriver that doesn't just cam right out.

Any pointers?

Thanks,

Youra.

OK - moved them - just *very* tight for some reason, *very* large screwdriver used!

I know what you mean, I have experienced it myself. I think the screws get very tight because there is nothing to keep the screws in alignment with each other. It isn't obvious which screw needs to screw up or down to maintain the horizontal alignment, if the alignment isn't maintained it jams up. Also the threads might need some lubrication.
Good luck.
