INTERMITTANT ENGRAVING

Post by Steve » Fri 20 Apr , 2007 14:03 pm

A customer has called with a problem with a Versalaser.

The unit is about 18 months old.

He is trying to engrave a chess board on glass sheet. As the laser rasters over the squares it starts off OK. After engraving about 5 mm of the squares the laser stops marking the material for a 1mm strip then resumes for the next 20mm. On the second set of squares it misses a stripe about 2 mm thick and gets worse as it goes further.

I suspect the problem is with the setup of the tube tickle or the laser tube may need a recharge.

The room its in is not too hot, ventilation is OK and the unit will cut vectors without a problem.

Has anyone any suggestions :?:

From ULS Austria

It sounds interesting, but i would try to engrave a black filled rectangle
on plastic or andodized aluminum to see if the performance of the tube will
be ok or not.

It sounds like the tube, but make sure with this test.
