We have versaLASER V300 and want to cut 6mm foam board.
Please can you advise on suitable settings to cut without burning the core.

I have not tried to cut foam board before but would suggest you try either selecting a very soft material and see how it cuts. If it does not cut through try increasing the intensity or a different material setting.

You could also try two passes over the same part or deep engraving (on a blue line) for somthing like Perspex.

To get the right settings for any material is all a bit trial and error. Just draw a small simple shape and see what happens. Start with the lowest settings and work up.

This response is probably much too late but others may be interested too.

I have managed to cut 6mm foamboard on the Versalaser with the material setting on "Balsa Wood"

However - the foam core shrinks back significantly with the heat giving an inward radius to the finished cut.

Give it a try - it might be OK for your application.
