Versalaser stop processing job

Post by Gryphon » Mon 05 Dec , 2011 16:28 pm

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody has encountered and/or resolved the issue below.

If a user creates a design within 2D Design v2 which uses the Contour tool; When the VersaLaser reaches this element of the design it stops dead and 15-30 seconds later, the machine (laser cutter) will turn itself off and the laser head remains in place, in the middile of the design.

We are currently running the laser from a Windows 7 32bit PC with all microsoft updates and the latest known driver for the device.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Regards

Have you used the contour tool to create a vector around an image?

I have seen an similar issue if the vector lines are of extremly short lenghts and not joined together. You can end up with many thousands of lines and the processing power required to sort the laser path can causer the PC to run out of memory.

I would examine the contour path, if possible join the entities together or simplify the path.
