not installing properly

Post by sanju » Mon 07 Dec , 2009 14:00 pm

Hi, I just reformatted my computer and tried installing the vls driver. It keeps detecting that the machine is vls2.3 yet the machine is vls3.5, 5owatts.

When i try printing, the panel gives an error " This print job is of type VLS3.50 whereas the current machine type is vls 2.3" " Please print with a different driver, or else conect the proper engraver to the computer"

The software used was 5.24.38

Is there something i am missing. What should i do. I have tried about 10 times to uninstall and re-install.

Hi,

Once the driver is installed and you are looking at the viewer with the power applied ahat is displayed as the laser type in the Red Menu bar?

It should say VLS 3.5 Control Panel.

If this is reporting that the unit is a VLS 2.3 then the problem is the CPU and not the driver.

I have known CPU's loose their identity and report the wrong laser type.

Please answer on the forum as to what is displayed.

Also if you go to Diagnostics the Serial number and Laser power are also reported.

Are they displayed correctly?

It is posible to re program the CPU with the correct laser type.

Dear Steve,

The panel is saying VLS 2.3.

Also, i tried installing in another computer and still the same problem. The laser settings are not correct. It means that we have to program the CPU.

Let me know the next procedure.
