laser NOT cutting

Post by Crakkers » Mon 29 Jun , 2009 10:28 am

Suddenly my VL300 is not cutting anything. When a job is sent the head travels around the profile and the red laser light is on but it is not cutting.

Any ideas?

Found the fault myself!!

One of the magnets on the lid had fallen out. It appears that these magnets operate a reed switch when the lid is closed. The reed switch acts as a cut out / safety switch - no magnet or lid open - no cutting!

The two reed switches are wired in series so both have to be activated (i.e. door fully closed) for the laser to work correctly
