images and text doesnt align

Post by nazzy » Tue 19 Jun , 2007 15:38 pm

I'm trying to do perspex keyholders, I managed to cut them perfectly but when it came down to engraving the logo and the number everything was a blur.

The image didnt start on the same place as I'd positioned it on my corel draw. The image was blurred and looked wavy.

I thought I'd try a different material (denim) and see what happened but also its the same thing. The images just arent burning the way they look.

I converted everything to black and white, reset my corel settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the versa laser software and still it just doesnt get better.

I'm attaching a pic of how it turned out and the original image can be found on http://www.scarysari.com/images/flower_small.jpg

Any ideas?

What model of laser do you have?

Does it cut outlines correctly?

Are the optics clean?

Have you selected the correct material and material thickness?

Have you cut similar parts before?

I have a versa laser 3.50

The cutting comes out perfectly and smooth,

I've cleaned the laser mirrors (dunno what an optics is)

yep I've selected the correct material and thickness, I've cut and etched on other perspex and also on other fabric before and it was fine before.

All of a sudden it just wont work.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Its hard to see the problem from this photo.

If it cut images OK before, then either:
The optics need cleaning
Tube needs a bit of adjustment (tickle)
The laser tube is at the end of its life

Is this a new VLS 3.5?

The model is very new! and there have been several driver changes in the last couple of weeks.

Who did you buy the laser from?

I will forward this thread to ULS and hopefully they will respond.

I think a driver change will fix this!

For information can you post the driver you are using.

You may want to save the file from the job list so ULS can check it out.

Let us know ho you get on.
