Homing Downwards Now!

Post by Jimsiss » Thu 31 Aug , 2023 17:36 pm

Finally got to the point of setting the new tools. Set two and then sent it home to change to the next tool, Z axis homed correctly as before but now X goes down until it hits the bottom of the machine. If I manually jog it into position it knows when to stop as it hits 0.000 but I press to home X on its own and the axis and readout goes negative until I hit the E-stop.

Anyone any ideas?

I think I remember the actual spindle speed being 0 too when it was spinning up.

Might have found the issue, looks to have lost the connection on the limit switch. Can’t easily see to put it back on though

Done. It took about 2 hours total but it’s sorted. Spindle speed was working after checking the fuse so that’s not an issue. E-stop relay has one burnt contact though so that might need sorting in the near future.

Fault was the wire came off the limit switch, it was a terrible loose crimp so I tightened it with pliers (whilst under the x axis 🙄). The wire was very short so that took the longest to get back onto the terminal, not easy working in a mirror under the slide way.
