Centre height for turn 270

Post by mrrouter » Tue 06 Apr , 2010 22:53 pm

Can anybody tell me the centre height for the turn 270? Also how tight do the bolts need to be in the turret adjuster after you have adjusted the centre height?

cheers

The Centre Height will vary from machine to machine.

We have now started to measure this and stamp it on the head of the machine but older machines will not have this.

If the machine has been set up previously you should just be able to adjust the turret until a tool tip cleans of the face of a bar without leaving a pip

The adjuster screws can only be adjusted while the turret is indexing as once the turret locks back the motor puts pressure onto the screw. DO NOT try to adjust the screw when the turret is locked back as this will try to back drive the gearbox and will result in damage to the gears.

The turret motor drives constantly pushing the motor into the lock position. Loosening the screws will just lower the position. To adjust you have to defeat the guard switch by removing the actuator and fit in the guard switch. Then index the turret by manually calling up a different tool. While the turret is indexing tighten one of the screws then wait for the turret to lock back. It is sometimes easier to tighten too far until the tool is above centre, then loosen the adjuster and the turret will rotate as you do so. (slacken one of the adjusters before doing this so it has no effect and just tighten it up until it is firm once the hieght is correct)

If the tool is above centre slackening the screws will lower the tool. When at the correct position then simply lock off the screw.
