Post by davemusicmann » Wed 23 Mar , 2016 13:04 pm

I am having difficulty find information on a SEM type 30X2-44L spindle motor ( Photo of plate enclosed) can anyone help with information on identifying the wires coming out of the motor.
I have contacted SEM themselves who claim to had destroyed all information on obsolete motors can anyone please help.

You Should have 6 wires.

2 x Armature
2 x Tacho
2 x Thermal trip

Thanks very much.
I know the armature wires which seem to have an earth wire,
but how can I identify the others?

The thermal wires should be a dead short & the tacho should give you a feedback of 9.5 volts DC per 1000rpm so if you put a meter on it & spin it manually you should see a change in the voltage.
