Triac VMC cuts ovals not circles ???

Post by Midland Carbides » Thu 17 Apr , 2008 15:43 pm

Hi,

We have a Triac VMC (#51130B Jan '96) running Heidenhein software (v. 2.110) that we bought some time ago but have never managed to get running properly!

We have had the slideways refurbished by a local machine tool specialist as the service engineer found they were worn out and the lead screws checked out at the same time - all now OK.

Now for the problem - if I machine a Ø120mm circle (Ø7 cutter no cutter compensation) the machine cuts a slight oval i.e. the job measures 113 in the x direction but 112.5 in the y direction !!! :?

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

Regards,

Graeme
